Alisha is the Owner of Inquiring Little Minds in Ladysmith who has a passion for learning. A September not enrolled in school always feels like a missed opportunity, and Alisha embodies the concept of “life long learning”. Alisha is the Mother of 3 girls and finder of everything and anything!
Amanda Worms (Interior Health Region)
Amanda Worms is Owner of Little Owls Academy in Kelowna. With a background in media and accounting, Amanda brings a much needed perspective to understanding the needs of child care operators in BC. Once a “teen mom”, Amanda understands the role child care plays in supporting young women as they carve their path in the world.
Cari Shorrock - BSc, Msc (Fraser Health Region)
Cari is the Chief Executive Officer of Wind and Tide Preschools Ltd and Wind and Tide Child Development Centre Ltd, as well as a shareholder in their child care centres. Cari is a NSERC scholar and former Chemistry Professor at Langara College who has a passion for ensuring all children have their enthusiasm for learning fueled by quality educators and early childhood programs. She also holds executive positions with Southridge School’s Volunteer Committee (PAC), Surrey White Rock Ringette Association and Cloverdale Skating Club.
Jennifer Maillet - LPN, ECE, MBA (Northern Health Region)
Jennifer Maillet is the owner of the largest childcare centre in Northern British Columbia located in Terrace. Jennifer’s background is as a licensed practical nurse. Jennifer has been providing childcare for over 13 years and has recently completed her Early Childhood Education and Masters in Business Administration. Jennifer has operated as a small Family Child Care, In Home Multi Age and then grew to a large Group Child Care Center. Jennifer understands the challenges faced by providers of all levels of child care in BC.
Pamela Wallberg - ECE, Infant-Toddler, BFA, MA (Vancouver Coastal Health Region)
Pamela is the majority shareholder in Alderwood House School in Richmond, offering licensed group 3-5, group infant-toddler, and in-home-multi-age. Pamela has won the Governor General’s Award for Excellence in Childcare. Her masters thesis and subsequent publications have examined democracy and social-emotional learning in early childhood. Previous to founding Alderwood House School, Pamela spent 10 years within the not-for-profit sector in various child care programs.
